August Book Photography

posted in: Bookshelf, Friday Photos, Photography | 4

I can’t believe it’s already August – my summer has flown by, and honestly I don’t want it to end! My TBR pile is still impossibly long, so a few weeks ago I finally ordered some novels I’ve been wanting to read for awhile. Naturally, when they came, I had to take out my camera and try my hand at book photography!

I think I might take my own photos of book covers from now on, instead of using them from Amazon or Goodreads. Let me know what you think of the shots below, and if you’ve read any of these books I’d love to know how you liked them!

BookPileOne BookPileTwo

ONE // Scarlet, Marissa Meyer

TWO // The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, John Boyne

I’ve already read this one on my Kindle but still really wanted the hard copy.

THREE // The Fever, Megan Abbott

FOUR // OCD Love Story, Corey Ann Haydu

FIVE // The Wrath and the Dawn, Renee Ahdieh

I am terrible at taking pictures, and I know nothing about photography (except how to take a pic of my food with my iphone, haha) but I loved your photographs 🙂 The colors are wonderful!

Love these photos!! So aesthetic. I stopped using Goodreads covers a while ago because I like taking pictures and they work really well at breaking up all the writing into nice chunks. Oooh, OCD Love Story is really good as well. I tend to forget about it because I don’t actually own a copy.

Thank you Emily! I think I will definitely try using my own photos. And yes, just finished OCD Love Story and enjoyed it!!
